Spanakopita Puffs, Part IV of How to Host a Greek Dinner Party

Every good party starts with a good appetizer, and these Spanakopita Puffs fit the bill! They’re a speedier version of spanakopita, with all the flavor of the traditional Greek spinach pie in a pop-able bite (or two).

Spinach and feta are tucked in a flaky crescent roll triangle for an easy and quick appetizer. Just look at those little golden puffs of flavor!

I was able to put these together right before our party guests came so they were pretty much fresh out of the oven.

They would be great dipped in tzatziki, but are perfectly delicious by the handful themselves.

  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 green onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 10 oz chopped spinach, frozen
  • 2 T dill weed
  • 6 ounces feta cheese, crumbled

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the individual triangles.
Cut triangles in half.
Defrost spinach in the microwave and drain very well.
Combine oil, onions, garlic, dill, lemon juice, spinach and feta in a small bowl.
Place a tablespoon of the spinach and feta mixture in the middle of each triangle (stretch the dough if necessary) and fold the points together toward the middle to create a small pocket.
