But in light of the events in Connecticut late last week, that seems sort of trite and, I don’t know, out of place? Instead, I will take this time to wish you a very happy holiday season. Hug your family and tell them how much they mean to you. Give your kids an extra squeeze. Toss Fido an extra treat. ‘Tis the season for that sort of thing anyway, good will toward men, and all. Even more so now, it seems.
I take comfort in my faith and prayer and am reminded this time of year of the sacrifice and miracle and mystery and of it all. That helps. I hope you will be surrounded with some comfort and joy, too, in whatever form that takes.
These cookies might help your heart be lighter, too. Head over to Her View From Home for the recipe.
Merry Christmas, friends.
Happy holidays, and thank you for this post. It's hard to remember that there is good in the world when there is also so much sadness. Happy new year, and be safe
